OQITOP's Innovative R&D for Next-Gen Nickel Foam Materials

OQITOP Advances Development of Next-Generation Nickel Foam Materials in Laboratory R&D Program

Time:2026-06-07

OQITOP has launched a dedicated laboratory research and development program focused on next-generation nickel foam materials, aiming to deliver higher performance solutions for energy storage, thermal management, catalysis, and filtration applications.

In this R&D initiative, OQITOP’s technical team is optimizing key parameters of nickel foam, including pore size (PPI), porosity, thickness, and surface density. By fine-tuning the three-dimensional porous structure and improving consistency across batches, the company is working to achieve:

  • Higher specific surface area for improved electrochemical performance
  • Lower internal resistance and enhanced electrical conductivity
  • Better mechanical strength and structural stability
  • More uniform pore distribution for reliable, repeatable performance

The new nickel foam under development is targeted for use in lithium-ion and nickel–metal hydride battery electrodes, fuel cells, supercapacitors, catalyst carriers, and other advanced applications requiring lightweight, conductive, and highly porous metal substrates.

OQITOP’s laboratory is also exploring surface treatment and coating processes to further enhance corrosion resistance, wettability, and compatibility with various active materials and electrolytes. The goal is to provide customers with nickel foam solutions that can be tailored to specific industrial and research requirements.

This ongoing R&D effort reflects OQITOP’s commitment to continuous innovation in metal foam technology and to supporting customers in fields such as new energy, environmental protection, and high-end manufacturing with reliable, high-performance nickel foam materials.
