Custom Stainless Steel Honeycomb Panels
Einführung
- Our stainless steel honeycomb panels are engineered for projects that demand high strength, low weight, and long-term durability. Using 304 or 316L stainless steel skins bonded to a precision-formed stainless steel honeycomb core, these panels deliver an outstanding strength‑to‑weight ratio, excellent flatness, and superior impact and fatigue resistance. Compared with solid sheet or traditional plate, stainless steel honeycomb panels significantly reduce weight while maintaining exceptional rigidity, making them ideal for structural cladding, machine enclosures, cleanroom walls, and high-end architectural elements.

Designed for harsh and safety-critical environments, these panels offer excellent corrosion resistance, fire resistance, and temperature stability. The non-combustible stainless steel construction and open-cell honeycomb core support reliable performance in marine, chemical, transportation, and industrial applications. We provide full customization of panel size, thickness, surface finish (brushed, mirror, matte, or coated), and edge detailing according to your drawings or specifications, ensuring a tailored solution for façades, doors, partitions, elevators, and other demanding projects.
Spezifikationen
Typ Stainless steel honeycomb core / honeycomb sandwich panels / blocks; supplied as core-only or bonded with skins (stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, titanium, FRP, stone, ceramic, etc.), for structural, thermal, and high‑temperature applications. Structure Regular hexagonal (or special geometry) cells made from thin stainless steel foil, expanded or corrugated and then bonded/welded to form a lightweight, high‑stiffness honeycomb structure with excellent strength, temperature resistance, and durability. Steel Grade Commonly austenitic grades such as 304, 304L, 316, 316L for good corrosion resistance and formability; ferritic or heat‑resistant grades (e.g., 430, 310S, 321) available for specific temperature or cost requirements; other grades on request according to application and standards. Cell Size Typical cell size from about 3 mm to 19 mm (e.g., 1/8″, 3/16″, 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″); smaller cells for higher compressive and shear strength and better surface quality, larger cells for lower weight and improved airflow or fluid passage in thermal and filtration applications. Cell Shape Standard hexagonal cells; special cell geometries (e.g., over‑expanded, rectangular, or custom patterns) and perforated cells available to meet ventilation, acoustic, catalytic support, or bonding requirements. Foil Thickness Stainless steel foil thickness typically from about 0.03 mm to 0.2 mm (approx. 0.0012″–0.008″), selected according to required compressive strength, shear strength, impact resistance, and weight; thicker foil for heavy‑duty or high‑temperature service. Overall Thickness Range Core thickness typically from about 3 mm to 300 mm or more; finished sandwich panel thickness depends on core height and facing skins, commonly in the range of 5–100 mm for industrial, architectural, and transportation uses. Panel Size (L × W) Core blocks and panels available from small cut pieces to large-format panels (e.g., up to approx. 1220 × 2440 mm or larger, depending on production line, material grade, and transport conditions); special sizes and shapes available on request. Density Range Density adjustable by choice of cell size, foil thickness, and grade; typical relative density around 3%–15% of solid stainless steel, offering a balance of low weight and very high mechanical robustness compared with solid sheet or plate. Mechanical Properties Very high stiffness‑to‑weight and strength‑to‑weight ratio; excellent compressive strength and in‑plane/out‑of‑plane shear performance; good impact and fatigue resistance; suitable as load‑bearing or stiffening core in demanding mechanical and thermal environments. Thermal & Acoustic Good thermal conduction through stainless steel with open‑cell structure enabling airflow and efficient heat exchange; widely used in heat shields, thermal protection, and energy absorbers; can be combined with perforated skins and fillers for sound absorption or acoustic damping where required. Surface Finish (Core) Core typically supplied as as‑fabricated (mill finish) stainless steel; surfaces can be degreased, pickled, passivated, or lightly polished as required; cut edges can be machined, edge‑potted, or sealed to suit bonding, environmental, or cleanliness requirements. Surface Finish (Panels) With skins: available in mill finish, brushed, satin, mirror, bead‑blasted, or patterned stainless surfaces; optional coatings such as paint, powder coating, high‑temperature coatings, or specialty functional layers (e.g., anti‑fingerprint, anti‑corrosion) depending on application. Bonding & Adhesives Cores bonded to skins using structural adhesives (epoxy, polyurethane, high‑temperature film adhesives) or by brazing/spot welding/laser welding depending on design, temperature, and load requirements; adhesive systems selected to match stainless steel and service environment. Fire & Temperature Stainless steel honeycomb core is non‑combustible and suitable for high‑temperature and fire‑resistant applications; performance depends on skin material and adhesive or brazed joints; often used in fire doors, heat shields, and thermal protection systems within specified temperature limits. Corrosion Resistance Excellent corrosion resistance in many industrial, marine, and chemical environments, especially for 304/316 grades; resistance can be enhanced through pickling, passivation, or application‑specific coatings; grade selection based on medium, temperature, and cleanliness requirements. Processing & Forming Core can be cut, CNC‑machined, water‑jet cut, laser cut, and formed into contoured shapes; panels can be routed, folded, bent, drilled, welded, and mechanically fastened according to design; suitable for integration into welded frames and high‑integrity assemblies. Dimensional Tolerances Controlled cell size, core thickness, and flatness; tolerances for core and finished panels can be provided according to project specifications or applicable standards (e.g., thickness, bow, twist, and dimensional accuracy for structural or thermal applications). Standards & Reference Manufactured with reference to relevant stainless steel and honeycomb/sandwich standards (e.g., ASTM, EN, ISO and aerospace/transportation specifications) covering material grades, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and quality control of honeycomb core and panels. Application Range High‑temperature insulation and heat shields, fire‑rated doors and partitions, energy absorbers and crash elements, aircraft and gas‑turbine components (non‑primary structure), catalytic converter substrates and support structures, industrial furnace linings, filters, exhaust systems, façades, and other demanding structural or thermal components. Customization Custom cell size, density, grade, core thickness, panel size, skin material (stainless, steel, aluminum, titanium, composite, stone, ceramic, etc.), surface finish, perforation, and machining per drawings, CAD models, or technical specifications. Form of Supply Supplied as raw stainless steel honeycomb core blocks, cut‑to‑size cores, shaped or contoured cores, or fully assembled honeycomb sandwich panels ready for installation or further fabrication; optional edge‑closing, framing, and inserts available. Packaging Cores and panels packed with edge protection, moisture‑resistant wrapping, and suitable separators; wooden pallets or crates used to maintain flatness and prevent mechanical damage or contamination during transport and storage; special packaging available for clean or high‑value parts.
