As a professional supplier of porous metal materials, OQITOP recently collaborated with a renowned Spanish research institute, the Instituto de Investigación en Energía y Baterías Avanzadas (Advanced Energy & Battery Research Institute, IIEBA), to provide customized cylindrical metal foams for next‑generation energy storage research.
For IIEBA’s latest battery and electrochemical system projects, OQITOP designed and manufactured the following cylindrical foam structures:
- Cylindrical nickel foam (Ni foam)
- Cylindrical copper foam (Cu foam)
- Cylindrical iron foam (Fe foam)
- Cylindrical iron–nickel foam (Fe–Ni foam)
These metal foams feature controlled porosity, uniform pore size, and high specific surface area, making them ideal for use as:
- 3D current collectors for advanced lithium‑ion, sodium‑ion, and solid‑state batteries
- Catalyst carriers and electrode substrates in fuel cells and metal–air batteries
- Porous conductive frameworks for high‑power, fast‑charge battery designs
By providing these tailored cylindrical foam components, OQITOP has delivered key functional materials that support IIEBA’s research in:
- Improving battery energy density and power density
- Enhancing cycle life and safety of new energy batteries
- Developing next‑generation electrode architectures and hybrid systems
Through this cooperation, OQITOP once again demonstrates its capability in:
- Custom design of metal foam geometry (shape, diameter, length, wall thickness)
- Precise control of pore size (PPI), porosity, and mechanical strength
- Stable quality and repeatable performance for research and small‑batch pilot projects
OQITOP will continue to work closely with international research institutes and laboratories, providing high‑performance porous metal solutions for innovation in new energy batteries, fuel cells, and other advanced electrochemical technologies.
